Branded Employee Holiday Gifts & Company Merch Ideas

Employee holiday gift set with a navy hoodie, embroidered cap, canvas tote and rolled blanket

Branded employee holiday gifts land best when they're things people actually use: a hoodie they wear all winter, a cap that goes on every weekend, a tote that rides along to the grocery store. Put your logo on quality basics and the gift says thanks every time it comes out of the closet.

This guide covers custom company merch ideas that work for most teams, which decoration method fits each item, how to collect sizes without endless back-and-forth, how to prepare your logo file, and when to order so gifts arrive before the break.

Branded employee holiday gifts people actually use

Corporate holiday gifts with a logo get kept when they share three traits: they're comfortable, they look good on their own, and the logo is tasteful rather than loud. These ideas check all three boxes.

Hoodies and sweatshirts

A soft hoodie or crewneck is about as close to a sure thing as a winter gift gets. People wear them on weekends, not just at the office, so a subtle logo goes further than a giant one. A left-chest logo looks polished, and a larger design on the back works for teams that want more presence.

Embroidered caps and patch hats

Caps are an easy gift because adjustable styles skip sizing altogether. For a premium look, embroidery stitches your logo in up to 15 thread colors. Patches are another polished option, in woven, PVC or faux leather.

Prefer a print? Flat-front and unstructured caps can also be screen printed or decorated with DTF, which handles full-color logos well. See every style on our custom hats page.

Tote bags and other bags

Tote bags go to the grocery store, the gym and the office, which keeps your logo out in the world long after the holidays. They're also one-size, so you can order without collecting a single size. Browse custom bags to see every style.

Custom blankets

A blanket is a warm, generous gift that goes home and stays there. Custom blankets are printed with dye sublimation, so your logo, brand colors or a team photo come out in full color. Choose from nine fabric types and sizes from 30 × 40 to 60 × 80 inches, plus 96 × 120 in select fabrics. Production takes 1–3 business days.

T-shirts worth keeping

A t-shirt is the most familiar piece of company merch, so make it a good one. Choose a soft, well-fitting blank in a color people already wear and keep the design simple: a small chest logo with a short line on the back feels like a brand, not a uniform. See styles and colors on our custom t-shirts page.

More company merch ideas

  • Jackets for crews that work outside or travel to job sites. Browse custom jackets.
  • Golf towels for client outings and company golf days.
  • Small bundles that pair a cap with a tote, or a hoodie with a blanket, for a gift that feels complete.

Add a personal touch

A name turns a branded gift into a personal one. With DTF, every name is simply its own transfer, so adding each person's name to a sleeve or the back of a hoodie doesn't change the main design.

  • Names or initials on a sleeve or across the back.
  • A milestone year for a company anniversary or the year's new hires.
  • A handwritten note tucked in with the gift. It costs nothing and people remember it.

Choosing a decoration method

The right method depends on the item, the logo and the quantity. Here is how the options compare:

Method Best for
Embroidery Caps and sweatshirts; a raised, premium look for simple logos
Screen printing Larger orders of one design in a few solid colors
DTF transfers Full-color logos, small quantities and a mix of garment types
Dye sublimation Blankets with full-color logos and photos

How to plan sizes for your team

Sizing is the step that slows most group orders down. A simple process keeps it painless:

  1. Pick the styles first. Sizes vary from brand to brand, so collect sizes for the exact items you plan to order.
  2. Share the size chart. Send the chart for each style with your request so people can compare it with a favorite shirt they already own.
  3. Collect everything in one place. A short form or spreadsheet with each person's name, item, size and fit is all you need.
  4. Set a reply-by date. Give people a few days, follow up once, and make your best guess for anyone who doesn't answer.
  5. Order a few extras. A small cushion in the most common sizes covers new hires and late replies.
  6. Keep surprises one-size. If the gift is a surprise, choose adjustable caps, totes or blankets so you never have to ask.

Logo and file tips for a clean result

A good file is the difference between a crisp logo and a fuzzy one. Before you order:

  • Send the right format. A PNG with a transparent background at 300 DPI gives the cleanest result. We also accept AI, EPS, PDF and JPG files, in RGB or CMYK.
  • Remove the background. A white box around your logo prints as a white box. Ask your designer for a transparent version.
  • Size the logo for each item. Typical widths are 3 to 4 inches for a left-chest logo, about 4 to 4.5 inches on a structured cap front and 8 to 10 inches on a tote bag.
  • Watch small text. At left-chest size, taglines get tiny fast. Keep every line of text at 8 pt or larger, or use a simplified version of the logo.
  • Simplify for embroidery. Thread can't reproduce smooth gradients or hairline details, so a clean, flat version of your logo stitches best.
  • Plan for dark garments. Our DTF transfers include a white underbase, so brand colors stay bright on black, navy and charcoal.

When to order corporate holiday gifts

Start with the day you plan to hand gifts out, whether that's the holiday party or the last day before the break, and work backward. Leave time to collect sizes, approve the design and ship.

Our holiday order deadlines page lists the last order date for every shipping option. For orders placed before 3 PM EST:

  • Standard shipping: order by Tuesday, Dec 15
  • Fastest shipping: order by Monday, Dec 21
  • Free local pickup in Alpharetta: order by Wednesday, Dec 23

Treat those as final cutoffs, not targets. Blankets need 1–3 business days of production, and orders with several items or embroidered logos take more planning, so order as early as you can. We're closed Thursday, Nov 26 and Friday, Dec 25.

Planning a large order? Call us at (678) 845-6864 or email hello@tidalcolors.com and we'll help you plan the timing. If your office is in metro Atlanta, free local pickup in Alpharetta saves shipping time.
