My new Go To

Since first discovering Tidal Colors a couple of years ago, I was completely satisfied with the work they do. No complaints. If something did not turn out right, they make it right. I used to use a company located in NJ and had to wait days for the order to arrive. This place is local (for me) and has been a game changer.

Love to work with your company!

Excellent DTF printing company! The print quality was outstanding, the colors came out vibrant and sharp, and the finished product looked professional. I had the best experience with Tidal Colors. I needed 180 branded items (tote bags, t-shirt, hoodies and hats) for a wedding in less than a week and they delivered one day early. The items were great quality and they even helped me load up my car. Their pricing was also really good. No rush charges either. I will always call them first when I need something.

Obsessed!! I am the Outreach community coordinator for my church Johns Creek Christian. Tidal Colors made t-shirts for our congregation to wear in the Atlanta Pride parade, and the shirts came out beautifully! As a bonus, they were so much cheaper than online options we had looked at previously that wanted to charge us per color and to print the shirts both on the front and back! We will absolutely use Tidal Colors in the future! Very grateful for you all!

FAQs

Can DTF transfers be used on dark fabrics or any garment color?

Absolutely! One of DTF’s biggest advantages is its ability to work on any garment color, including dark and black fabrics. Our DTF transfers use a white ink underbase that ensures your colors pop brilliantly on dark materials. Whether you’re printing on white, black, navy, red, or any other colored garment, our transfers maintain vibrant color reproduction and excellent opacity. This makes DTF the perfect choice for businesses that need consistent quality across various garment colors without the limitations of other printing methods.

Can I order DTF transfers for my Etsy shop or print-on-demand business?

Absolutely! Tidal Colors is perfect for Etsy sellers and print-on-demand businesses. Our no-minimum policy, fast turnaround times, and wholesale pricing make us an ideal partner for online sellers. Whether you’re fulfilling individual customer orders or stocking inventory for popular designs, our flexible ordering system works with your business model. Many successful Etsy sellers use our transfers to offer custom apparel without the investment in expensive equipment. Contact us to discuss how we can support your online business growth.

Can I order multiple designs on one gang sheet?

Definitely! Gang sheets are designed specifically for combining multiple designs, sizes, or even different customer orders on a single sheet. This approach maximizes efficiency and reduces costs at $11.00 per foot compared to individual transfer pricing. You can mix different designs, create various sizes of the same design, or combine orders for multiple customers. Our gang sheet system is perfect for small businesses managing multiple products or custom orders simultaneously while keeping costs low.

Can I pick up my DTF transfer order from your Atlanta location?

Yes! Our facility is located at 1891 McFarland Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30005. Local pickup is available and can save you shipping costs while getting your transfers even faster. Since we print orders the next business day, you can often pick up your completed transfers within 24-48 hours of placing your order. Contact us at (678) 845-6864 or hello@tidalcolors.com to coordinate pickup times and ensure your order is ready. Local pickup is especially convenient for Atlanta-area businesses that need quick turnaround or want to build an ongoing relationship with our team.

Do DTF transfers crack, peel, or fade after washing?

Our premium DTF transfers are engineered for exceptional durability and longevity. When properly applied using correct heat press settings, DTF transfers create a permanent bond that resists cracking, peeling, and fading. The transfers maintain their vibrant colors and soft feel through regular washing and wearing. We use high-quality inks and adhesives specifically formulated for durability. For best results, we recommend following our application instructions and caring for printed garments by washing in cold water, avoiding bleach, and air drying when possible.

Do you offer DTF transfers with no branding or white-label packaging?

Yes, we provide clean, unbranded transfers that allow you to present them as your own work. Our transfers come without any Tidal Colors branding, giving you the professional appearance your customers expect. This white-label approach is perfect for businesses that want to maintain their brand identity while outsourcing the printing process. You can confidently deliver high-quality transfers to your customers without any third-party branding interfering with your business presentation.

Do you offer same-day printing or expedited shipping?

Yes! We offer same-day shipping for orders that meet our cutoff times. Monday through Friday orders placed by 3.00 AM
Eastern Time qualify for same-day shipping, if same day selected at checkout. Please note we don’t ship on Sundays, but Sunday orders are processed and shipped Monday. Combined with our next-day printing, this means you can get your transfers incredibly quickly when you need them for urgent projects or last-minute orders.

Do you offer wholesale pricing for resellers?

All our prices at Tidal Colors are already wholesale prices!
At $0.018 per square inch for individual transfers and $4.95 per foot for gang sheets, you’re getting competitive wholesale rates from the start. For high-volume orders or ongoing business relationships, contact us at hello@tidalcolors.com or (678) 845-6864 to discuss additional volume discounts. We love working with resellers, custom apparel businesses, and print shops, and we’re happy to create custom pricing packages that help your business succeed.

How do I apply a DTF transfer? Can I use a heat press or an iron?

DTF transfers can be applied using both heat presses and household irons, though heat presses provide more consistent results. For best results, preheat your garment, position the transfer design-side down, and apply medium-high heat (300-320°F) with medium pressure for 10-15 seconds. After pressing, allow to cool for 10-15 seconds, then remove the film in one smooth motion. A heat press ensures even temperature and pressure distribution, but a household iron can work for smaller quantities. We provide detailed application instructions with every order to ensure perfect results every time.

How long can you keep DTF transfers before using them?

DTF transfers have excellent shelf life when stored properly. You can keep unused transfers for 6-12 months in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight and humidity. Store them flat or rolled (not folded) in their original packaging or a sealed container. This extended shelf life makes DTF transfers perfect for inventory management, allowing you to stock up on popular designs or seasonal items. The stability of our transfers means you can order in advance for busy seasons or keep a variety of designs ready for quick turnaround on customer orders.

What are the artwork requirements for submitting a design?

For best results, submit vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) or high-resolution raster images (PNG, JPG) at 300 DPI minimum. Designs should be created at actual print size when possible. We accept files up to 24 inches wide, and colors should be in CMYK or RGB format. Avoid extremely fine details or text smaller than 8-point font. Our online gang sheet builder tool makes it easy to arrange multiple designs efficiently. If you have questions about your specific file, our team at hello@tidalcolors.com can review it and provide guidance.

What are the benefits of DTF transfers compared to screen printing or sublimation?

DTF transfers offer superior versatility and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional printing methods. Unlike screen printing, DTF requires no minimum quantities, setup fees, or color limitations, making it perfect for small batches and custom orders. Compared to sublimation, DTF works on any fabric color including dark garments and natural fibers like cotton. DTF transfers also provide excellent durability, vibrant colors, and a soft hand feel. With our next-day printing turnaround, DTF is faster and more flexible than screen printing while offering better fabric compatibility than sublimation printing.

What is a DTF gang sheet?

A DTF gang sheet is a cost-effective printing solution where multiple designs are arranged together on a single sheet of transfer film. This allows you to maximize your printing area and reduce costs by combining several different designs, sizes, or quantities on one sheet. Our gang sheets start at just $4.95 per foot, making them perfect for small businesses, Etsy sellers, or anyone looking to print multiple designs efficiently. You can mix and match different designs, create various sizes of the same design, or combine orders for different customers all on one convenient sheet.

What is a DTF transfer and how does it work?

DTF stands for Direct to Film, a revolutionary digital printing technology that allows you to transfer vibrant, high-quality designs onto virtually any fabric. The process involves printing your design directly onto a special film using water-based inks, then applying a hot-melt powder adhesive. When heat pressed onto your garment at the correct temperature and time, the design bonds permanently to the fabric, creating a soft, durable, and professional-looking print. At Tidal Colors, we use state-of-the-art DTF printing equipment to ensure every transfer delivers exceptional quality and longevity for your custom apparel projects.

What is the minimum quantity I can order?

There are no minimum quantities at Tidal Colors! Whether you need just one transfer for a sample or thousands for a large production run, we can accommodate your order. This no-minimum policy makes us perfect for small businesses, startups, Etsy sellers, or anyone testing new designs. You only pay for what you need at
$0.018 per square inch
for individual transfers or
$4.95 per foot
for gang sheets, making small quantity orders affordable and practical.

What is your return or refund policy for DTF orders?

Customer satisfaction is our top priority at Tidal Colors. We offer a comprehensive 30-day refund and reprint policy. If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, contact us first and we’ll work to make things right. We’ll reprint any order with print quality or adherence issues at no charge. For other concerns, management approval may be required. Contact us within 30 days of receiving your order to submit a refund or reprint request. We stand behind our quality and want every customer to be completely satisfied with their DTF transfers.

What is your turnaround time for DTF transfer orders?

At Tidal Colors, we pride ourselves on fast turnaround times. All orders are printed the next business day after approval and then shipped according to your selected shipping method. This means you can have your transfers in hand within 2-3 business days for standard shipping, or even faster with expedited options. Our efficient production process and commitment to quick turnaround makes us ideal for businesses that need reliable, fast service for their custom printing needs.

What size should I choose for my DTF transfer or gang sheet?

Transfer sizing depends on your specific application and garment type. For adult t-shirts, popular sizes range from 8-12 inches wide for chest designs. Youth sizes typically work well at 6-8 inches wide. Our transfers are priced at
$0.018 per square inch
, making it easy to calculate costs for any size. Gang sheets start at
$4.95 per foot
and can accommodate multiple designs efficiently. Consider your garment size, design placement, and target audience when selecting dimensions. Our team can help you determine the optimal size for your specific project to ensure professional results.

What types of garments and materials can DTF transfers be applied to?

DTF transfers work on an incredibly wide range of materials, making them perfect for diverse product lines. You can apply our transfers to cotton, polyester, cotton blends, tri-blends, canvas, denim, leather, nylon, and even some synthetic materials. Popular applications include t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, tank tops, tote bags, hats, aprons, uniforms, sportswear, and promotional items. The versatility of DTF technology means you can expand your product offerings without worrying about material compatibility, giving your business more opportunities to serve different customer needs.

What’s the minimum order quantity for small batches?

We specialize in small batch production with absolutely no minimum order requirements. This makes Tidal Colors perfect for entrepreneurs, small businesses, and custom apparel startups who need flexibility without large upfront investments. Whether you’re testing a new design with just a few pieces or fulfilling small custom orders, our pricing structure at
$0.018 per square inch
makes small batches economical. This approach allows you to manage inventory efficiently and respond quickly to customer demands without waste.
